Who we are

High-level coordination of the metrology community in advanced manufacturing to foster the impact of metrology developments in this field in Europe and beyond

The European Metrology Network (EMN) for Advanced Manufacturing is a consortium of European National Metrology Institutes and Designated Institutes that form the fundamental metrology infrastructure in Europe, to provide coordinated research and support for advanced manufacturing measurement challenges. Other organisations are encouraged to affiliate with the network as network partners. To meet most recent industry needs in metrology for advanced manufacturing, the EMN is frequently advised by it’s Stakeholder Council. The Stakeholder Council is comprised of industry representatives, at least by one representative per one of the 13 key industry sectors of the EMN.

The EMN for Advanced Manufacturing is one of eleven European Metrology Networks (EMNs) established by EURAMET, the European Association of National Metrology Institutes. The EMNs have been set up to support the realisation of the aim to ensure Europe has a world-leading metrology capability, based on high-quality scientific research and an effective and inclusive infrastructure, that meets the rapidly advancing needs of end users.
