European Quality Infrastructure Network publishes its Concept Note

The European Quality Infrastructure Network (EQIN), the collaboration platform of Europe’s quality infrastructure organisations, has now published a Concept Note, outlining the networks objectives and structure.

The document provides valuable insights on the Quality Infrastructure (QI), including its definition, role and functioning, and the importance of the network in strengthening and promoting the QI in Europe.

EURAMET Chairperson and chair of the network, Dolores del Campo, states:

“The publication of the EQIN Concept Note is an important step in strengthening Europe’s Quality Infrastructure.

It reflects our shared commitment to ensuring that metrology, standardisation, accreditation, conformity assessment, and market surveillance work seamlessly together to support innovation, sustainability, and trust across the Single Market.

The European Quality Infrastructure Network, which was created on 7 March 2024, aims to support and enhance the quality, safety and environmental soundness of goods, services, and processes for consumers and businesses in Europe.

Network partners are organisations that represent, with a unique voice, the key pillars of the European Quality Infrastructure: Metrology (EURAMET), Legal Metrology (WELMEC), Standardisation (CEN, CENELEC), Accreditation (EA), Market Surveillance & Product Safety (PROSAFE) and Conformity Assessment (EUROLAB).
