The first Strategic Research Agenda for Advanced Manufacturing is now available

An important activity of the European Metrology Network (EMN) for Advanced Manufacturing has been the development of its Strategic Research Agenda (SRA). 

The document was established in close collaboration with the EMN's stakeholders, identifying key metrology research challenges and opportunities that need to be addressed in order to drive innovation in advanced manufacturing in Europe.

The SRA has evolved in several stages incorporating content from questionnaires, open workshops and consultation events, and guidance from the Stakeholder Council. 

It is divided into four main sections: scene setting, cross cutting topics, stakeholder engagement and conclusions.

New EMN Chair and Vice-Chairs

The European Metrology Network welcomes its new Chair Fernando Araujo de Castro (NPL, UK), the new Vice-Chair for the Advanced Materials section, Luca Boarino (INRiM, Italy) and the new Vice-Chair Manufactured Components and Products, Antti Lassila (MIKES, Finland). Daniel O’Connor (NPL, UK) has been re-elected as Vice-Chair Smart Manufacturing Systems and Anita Przyklenk (PTB, Germany) has been re-elected as Secretary.

The EMN congratulates the elected and re-elected office holders and wishes them all the best in their roles.

Sincerest thanks are extended to the previous office holders who led the EMN Advanced Manufacturing during its founding phase and first important developments: EMN Chair Harald Bosse (PTB, Germany) and Vice-Chair Manufactured Components and Products Alessandro Balsamo (INRiM, Italy).

Save the Date: Annual General Meeting in October 2025

The next Annual General Meeting of EMN Advanced Manufacturing will be held on 14 - 16 October 2025 in Poland.
