Key Comparison of Capacitance Standards
Project Description
In this comparison, the value of a capacitance standard at a nominal value of 10 pF is derived by the participants from either the dc- or ac-quantum Hall resistance or a calculable Thompson-Lampard capacitor by means of a suitable chain of measuring bridges, or the value of a 10 pF capacitance standard traced to the BIPM’s dc quantum Hall resistance.
Because the measuring chain usually includes several 10:1 ratio measurements, the comparison comprises a 100 pF capacitance standard as optional value to allow testing the 10:1 calibration of the participants.
