Determination of trace elements in water

Project Description

The aim of this project is to establish and demonstrate international comparability and traceability of measurements of trace elements in water (Pb, Cd, ...).

This project is part of a joint EUROMET/EURACHEM project aiming at establishing traceability down to the working level.

The EUROMET part consists of evaluating the uncertainty of the certification measurements carried out by experinced laboratories, whereas EURACHEM examines the performance of the participating field laboratories and attempts to identify the sources of uncertainties of both random and systematic nature.

Isotope dilution mass spectrometry will mainly be used for the certification measurements.

Further Information

The joint EUROMET/EURACHEM project will be carried out in two phases.

Phase 1: Establishment of traceability at the highest level

Phase 2: Establishment of traceability down to the working level
