Characterisation of the Transport Behaviour of Commercially available 100 Ohm Standard Resistors

In the national metrological institutes the unit of resistance is realised using the quantum Hall effect. Usually a quantized Hall resistance is linked to a 100 Ohm standard resistor. Therefore high quality 100 Ohm standard resistors are of great importance.

Also laboratories which do not have their own quantum Hall effect need transportable 100 Ohm standard resistors to achieve traceability with lowest possible uncertainty if their transport properties are of high quality.

The aim of this project is to evaluate the properties of commercially available 100 Ohm standard resistors with respect to the mentioned applications. Five resistors, two built by ZIP (Russia), two built by Tinsley (UK) and one built by TEGAM (USA) will be transported to the participating laboratories and will be compared to the respective realised unit.
