Developing a primary dew-point standard

Project Description

In this project, a primary dew-point generator is designed and constructed in co-operation between MIKES (Finland) and UME (Turkey). The generator cover the dew-point temperature range from -60 °C to +10 °C and they will be used as the primary humidity reference at UME. The generator can be extended down to -80 °C with some modifications. The metrological performance will be thoroughly investigated in both sites. The uncertainty analysis will be validated with a bilateral comparison with MIKES dew-point temperature standards.

Final Report 2018-03-19

A primary dew-point generator was designed and constructed in co-operation between VTT MIKES (Finland) and TÜBİTAK UME (Turkey). The generator covers the dew-point temperature range from -80 °C to +10 °C and it is used as the primary humidity generator at TÜBİTAK UME. The metrological performance of the saturator was investigated at VTT MIKES. The metrological performance of the complete generator system was investigated and validated thoroughly at TÜBİTAK UME. A scientific paper concerning the generator and its performance was presented at TEMPMEKO 2016 conference. The paper has been accepted to be published in the International Journal of Thermophysics in 2018. A new project "Bilateral comparison of dew-point temperatures" was initiated for a bilateral comparison between TÜBITAK UME and VTT MIKES. The results including uncertainties will be used for supporting TÜBITAK UME's CMC claims for dew-point temperature in the range from -80 °C to 10 °C.

Progress Report 2017-04-10

A primary dew-point generator was designed and constructed in co-operation between VTT MIKES (Finland) and TÜBİTAK UME (Turkey). The generator cover the dew-point temperature range from -60 °C to +10 °C and it is used as the primary humidity generator at TÜBİTAK UME. The generator was extended down to -80 °C. The metrological performance was investigated at VTT MIKES. The metrological performance and validation measurements were also investigated thoroughly and completed at TÜBİTAK UME in 2015. A paper concerning the generator and its performance and validation measurements were submitted to TEMPMEKO 2016 conference. The uncertainty analysis will be validated with a bilateral comparison with VTT MIKES using dew-point hygrometer in 2017.

The generator cover the dew-point temperature range from -60 °C to +10 °C and it is used as the primary humidity reference at UME. The generator can be extended down -80 °C with some modifications. The metrological performance was investigated at MIKES. The metrological performance was completed at UME in 2015. The uncertainty analysis will be validated with a bilateral comparison with MIKES dew-point temperature standards in 2016.

Progress Report 2015-02-10

A primary dew-point generator was designed and constructed in co-operation between MIKES (Finland) and UME (Turkey). The generator cover the dew-point temperature range from -60 °C to +10 °C and it is used as the primary humidity reference at UME. The generator can be extended down to -80 °C with some modifications. The metrological performance was investigated at MIKES. The metrological performance is going to be completed at UME in 2015. The uncertainty analysis will be validated with a bilateral comparison with MIKES dew-point temperature standards.
