Large volume metrology workshop attracts over 50 delegates

Final workshop on large volume metrology disseminates project outputs to stakeholders, provides a discussion forum and identifies new challenges
EMRP project Large volume metrology in industry (IND53 LUMINAR) held a final workshop at NPL on the 18 and 19 May 2016. The aim of the workshop was to provide a mechanism for distributing knowledge of the project’s outputs (new hardware, new knowledge, five patents) to the wider world. It also provided a forum for researchers, suppliers and users to network and discuss issues.
The workshop consisted of presentations from LUMINAR project partners, interspersed with presentations from a range of end users including the aerospace, machine tool and particle physics sectors. A small exhibition in the foyer included hardware developed in the LUMINAR project sitting alongside the latest commercial laser trackers and photonics devices.
