EURAMET is very happy to announce that the awarding ceremony of the EURAMET Impact Prize 2013 will take place during the TEMPMEKO conference which will be held in Funchal, Madeira (Portugal) from 14 to 18 October 2013.
The opening ceremony of TEMPMEKO, the Symposium on Temperature and Thermal Measurements in Industry and Science, is the perfect surrounding for the presentation of this year's Impact Prize as the winner is an expert in thermal measurements and application and well known in the community.
As reported in EURAMET Newsletter Issue 8 Andrea Merlone, JRP-Coordinator of EMRP Joint Research Project "Metrology for pressure, temperature, humidity and airspeed in the atmosphere" (MeteoMet) and senior researcher at INRIM (Instituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica, Italy) has been selected for the EURAMET Impact Prize 2013.
EURAMET is grateful that the Organising Committee of TEMPMEKO provides the perfect opportunity for the presentation of the prize and that EURAMET's Vice-Chairperson (GA), Janko Drnovšek, is able to award the Impact Prize 2013.
The EURAMET Impact Prize is awarded annually to the individual who has demonstrated the best impact from a Joint Research Project or associated Researcher Excellence Grant. Nomination and selection is carried out by the EMRP Committee and the Research Council.
