An article summarising some of the achievements of the EMRP project SIB07 Qu-Ampere has been published in Nature Nanotechnology.
EMRP project ''Quantum ampere: Realisation of the new SI ampere' aims to develop state-of-the-art Single Electron Transport (SET) devices, which generate electric current by moving only one electron at a time, and by combining them with detectors to create quantum current sources for use as standards. Through joint collaboration between PTB, the University of Hannover and the University of Latvia, a non-adiabatic single electron pump was, for the first time, verified unambiguously through correlation measurements. The results impact on fundamental physics research and on applications in quantum information processing.
