Call 2013: Metrology for Energy and Environment

The evaluation process of the Stage 2 Call for Joint Researcher Project (JRP) proposals and Researcher Excellence Grant (REG) applications has been finalised. Following the Review Conference held in November, where external independent Referees evaluated and ranked the proposals, the EMRP Committee agreed on a final list of selected JRPs and associated REGs to fund. The EURAMET Research Council has endorsed the Call process and the final list.

The following project proposals have been selected and will be invited for contract negotiation in 2014

Energy

  • Metrology for III-V materials based high efficiency multi-junction solar cells
  • Measurement tools for Smart Grid stability and quality
  • Traceable characterisation of thin-film materials for energy applications
  • Metrology for biogas
  • Towards an energy-based parameter for photovoltaic classification
  • Traceable measurement of drive train components for renewable energy systems
  • Validated inspection techniques for composites in energy applications
  • Multiphase flow metrology in oil and gas production
  • Sensor development and calibration method for inline detection of viscosity and solids content of non-Newtonian fluids
  • Metrology for LNG
  • Non-conventional voltage and current sensors for future power grids
  • Metrology for efficient and safe innovative lighting
  • Sensor network metrology for the determination of electrical grid characteristics

Environment

  • Traceability for mercury measurements
  • Metrology for high-impact greenhouse gases
  • Metrology for earth observation and climate
  • Metrology for decommissioning nuclear facilities
  • Metrology for ammonia in ambient air
  • Metrology for VOC indicators in air pollution and climate change
  • Metrology for radiological early warning networks in Europe
