Bosnia-Herzegovina is now a member country of the European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP), following a unanimous vote by the EMRP Committee. This brings the total number of participating countries in the EMRP to 23.
"We welcome Bosnia-Herzegovina as a new EMRP member and wish them every success in the EMRP Call 2013. We appreciate very much the country's achievements which led to its membership. This represents another step towards further European integration in the field of metrology, facilitated by the EMRP", comments Jörn Stenger, EURAMET Vice-Chairperson (EMRP).
The Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina can now apply to become a funded partner in EMRP joint research projects that enable collaboration with other European Institutes, industry and academia to help solve measurement problems and grand challenges in areas such as health, energy, environment and new technologies.
Zijad Džemic, General Manager of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBIH), is delighted: "I would like to thank the EMRP Committee for the trust they have shown in the metrological capabilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We hope that IMBIH will find a way to further assert metrology in the country by fulfilling the research challenges."
