EMPIR project workshop on electrical power quality measurements

Photovoltaic Solar Pane

27 – 28 May 2019, CMI, Brno, Czech Republic

The project

The core objective of EMPIR project <link research-innovation search-research-projects details>‘Traceability routes for electrical power quality measurements’ (15RPT04, TracePQM) is to develop a novel traceable accurate measurement system for power and power quality measurements that is accessible throughout Europe.

The Renewable Energy Directive requires the EU to fulfil at least 20 % of its final energy consumption with renewable sources by 2020. However, increasing numbers of decentralised renewable sources can cause a deterioration in the grid’s power quality and demands are increasing for traceable, accurate measurements of power and power quality.

Successful implementation of the new measurement system developed by this project will pave the way for increased adoption of renewable energy across Europe.

The workshop

Results from the project will be presented at the Final Dissemination Workshop, which is open to all.

Topics to include:

  • Good Practice Guide entitled ‘Guide for Sampling Power and Power Quality Measurements’ soon to be made available via the project website.
  • modular power and power quality measurement setup
  • software tool for evaluation of measured data

Provisional programme

Registration (Deadline 26 April 2019)

This EMPIR project is co-funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and the EMPIR Participating States
