Key research needs identified at workshop

120 people recently attended a successful workshop at the French National Measurement Institute LNE (Laboratoire national de métrologie et d'essais) to collect ideas for topics for the 2019 EMPIR Energy and Environment calls for joint research projects.

The event was fully booked, and many more people were interested to attend. However, you can access the workshop presentations and session outcomes.

‘We appreciate that so many people, whether intending to co-ordinate a project or not, contributed to the discussions and helped identify the key research topics’, says Andrea Merlone, convenor of the Task Group for Environment.

Gert Rietveld, convenor of EURAMET’s Task Group for Energy, adds that ‘The key note lectures of representatives of high-level stakeholders really helped to identify their key research needs. Looking at the workshop outcomes, we expect that several new projects will be proposed meeting these needs, also progressing previously established cooperation’.
