EMPIR Health Call 2018 – Provide input for future research projects

Stakeholder Workshop & Network Meeting, 12 – 13 December at PTB Berlin, Germany

EURAMET’s European Metrology Research Programme, EMPIR, will issue a call on ‘Metrology for Health’ at the beginning of 2018. In preparation for the call, EURAMET’s Task Group for Health is organising a workshop and networking meeting. It aims to bring together stakeholders in the area of health, including international experts in medicine, academia and industry and the measurement community. The event will be held at PTB Berlin, Germany, on 12 and 13 December 2017.

"The aim of the workshop is to encourage closer interaction with stakeholders. By having this crucial input from experts in health, upcoming joint research projects are going to see faster application of metrology in practice. I believe that the 2018 health call will create stronger impact through fast clinical translation," explains Tobias Schäffter, convenor of EURAMET’s Task Group for Health.

The Scope for ‘EMPIR Health Call 2018’ is based on stronger alignment with current and upcoming EU Horizon 2020 calls by addressing measurement challenges in healthcare. Topics of the workshop will focus on the further development of medical application and technologies, including areas such as non-communicable diseases (e.g. onco-, neuro- or cardio diseases), infectious diseases, personalised medicine, multi-parametric measurements and analysis, molecular and cell diagnosis and therapy and personalised therapy and radiotherapy.

The first day of the workshop aims at stakeholder input on these areas, including talks from invited speakers. On the second day, the potential contribution of metrology will be discussed.

Speakers at the event:
Molecular Diagnosis and Therapeutics
Prof Dr Christa Cobbaert, Leiden University Medical Centre

Multi-parametric measurements and data analysis
