EMPIR Delegation Agreement signed - 600 million Euro Metrology Research Programme ready to go
An essential milestone for the 600 million European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research (EMPIR) was reached in 2015. EURAMET was happy to announce the signing of the Delegation Agreement by the European Union, represented by the European Commission, and EURAMET.
The projects from the 2014 call (Industry, Research Potential and Support for Impact) successfully started this year. Following the announcement of the 2015 call in January (Health, SI Broader Scope, Industry, Research Potential, Support for Impact) a review conference was successfully held in November to evaluate the proposals. The selected proposals will be announced in January 2016.

EURAMET relaunched website
The relaunch of the newly designed website represented an important step for EURAMET in 2015. The website, available at, has a new and modern design and will support EURAMET on the way towards more interactive, open and transparent communications with its stakeholders.

Closer co-operation with ETSI
At the beginning of 2015 a newly established formal proposal for co-operation between EURAMET and ETSI was signed. "We are delighted that EURAMET now has an official partnership with all three European Standardisation bodies" said Dr Kamal Hossain, EURAMET Past-Chairperson (as of June 2015).

Strategic Research Agenda for Metrology in Europe
The Strategic Research Agenda for Metrology in Europe (SRA) is being developed to provide a high-level strategic view of measurement capability requirements which may be delivered not just by EURAMET's European Metrology Programmes, EMRP and EMPIR, but by the wider research community involved in measurement-related programmes regionally, nationally and internationally. The SRA has been prepared by EURAMET with input from the EURAMET Technical Committees and Task Groups in consultation with their stakeholders. To engage the broader stakeholder communities in the development of the SRA, the document was subject to an open consultation in 2015. The collected views and comments are now being taken into account before the final version will be published.
