Termination of the EUROMET MoU

The 21st EUROMET General Assembly (GA) from 30th to 31st of May 2007 in Teddington, UK, was the last GA of EUROMET. The delegates took unanimously the decision to terminate the EUROMET Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with effect from 30th June 2007 and to transfer all tasks and responsibilities to the new legal entity EURAMET e.V. as the succussor organisation of EUROMET.

Of course, this is not the termination of the very successful cooperation of the European NMIs within the framework of the EUROMET of the last 20 years. On the contrary, it is an evolution towards a wider and more solid cooperation within a legal entity. EURAMET is continuing all the tasks and responsibilities of EUROMET as a Regional Metrology Organisation. Beyond that, EURAMET will be responsible for coordinated European research within a European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP).
