With the foundation of EURAMET and the election of the three Chairpersons the purpose of the ceremony was fulfilled and in the evening everybody gathered for the inauguration dinner to celebrate the event. The purpose of EURAMET is twofold: It will among other things negotiate a contract with the European Commission for an EMRP to be financed by participating countries and by the European Commission.
