Workshop: The Future of Metrology for Advanced Manufacturing

The European Metrology Network for Advanced Manufacturing (with the support of EMPIR project 19NET01, AdvManuNet) will run a workshop entitled ‘The Future of Metrology for Advanced Manufacturing’ on 12 June at the euspen 23rd International Conference & Exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Workshop

This workshop will focus on metrology in advanced manufacturing and is intended to encourage interaction with the community to define the current metrology gaps and the future direction of research to overcome these challenges.

The first session will be chaired by Dr Harald Bosse from PTB, Germany. A short introductory talk on the European Metrology Network (EMN) for Advanced Manufacturing and its Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) will be given by EMN vice chairs. This will be followed by a short description of ‘Metrology challenges for machine tools’ and challenges on this topic addressed in SRA will be presented.

The second session will be chaired by Dr Alexander Evans from BAM, Germany. A short description of the ‘Cross Cutting Topic – Smart Manufacturing Systems’ will be given. Challenges addressed in the SRA will also be presented.

Feedback and discussion is encouraged and an interactive questionnaire will also be used.
