International conference on mercury as a global pollutant (ICMGP 2022)

25 – 29 July 2022, online

EMPIR project Metrology for traceable protocols for elemental and oxidised mercury concentrations (19NRM03, SI-Hg) will be organising a special session at the International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP, July 2022).

Entitled ‘Metrological traceability for mercury analysis and speciation’, the special session will be jointly organised with the GMOS-train project.

The conference will seek to assess solutions to reduce the emissions and exposure to mercury as a global environmental pollutant, and test the efficiency of implementing the Minamata Convention in various parts of the world.

It will bring together representatives from industry, government, research institutions, non-governmental organisations and academia to discuss, among other things, options for low-mercury energy and industrial technologies and the concept of a low-mercury society. The event will also showcase new equipment to measure mercury in various environmental samples, and technology to reduce mercury emissions and exposure.

During the conference, delegates will be able to ask presenters questions and network with other attendees and sponsoring companies. Presentations will also be available to all registered delegates to revisit and reference after the event.
