New General Secretary for EURAMET

EURAMET is happy to announce the appointment of Duncan Jarvis as new EURAMET General Secretary.
“I am very pleased to inform you that the Board of Directors has appointed Duncan as General Secretary for a period of five years”, said Beat Jeckelmann, EURAMET’s Chairperson.
Duncan has been part of the EURAMET community for more than 20 years, where he started as UK representative for acoustics in EUROMET. In 2010 he took over the position as Programme Manager for EURAMET's EMRP.
Duncan Jarvis will start his new position on 1 January 2017.

The 18th International Metrology Congress (CIM) will be held in Paris (France) from 19 to 21 September 2017.
The congress focusses on topics around R&D and best practices for measurement in industry.

"Smallest" CMC in volume

A new Calibration and Measurement Capability (CMC) was published in the BIPM data base in October 2016. The new CMC from IPQ (Portugal) belongs to the field of volume measurements and refers to the calibration of micropipettes using the photometric method. It is so far, the smallest value in volume of any National Metrology Institute, 10-7 L. read more>>
