Scientists are set to overhaul the International System of Units

CGPM voting on SI redefinition on 16 November 2018 - kilogram set to be redefined

The SI redefinition is coming. After years of hard work, research and international collaboration by the measurement community, the kilogram, kelvin, mole and ampere are ready to be revised. On 16 November the General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM) will be considering the new definitions, and should they be accepted the SI system will then be based entirely on fundamental properties of nature. read more >>

To witness this historic moment join the open session of the CGPM at the Palais des Congrès in Versailles,
France by connecting to the BIPM's Youtube channel on 16 November 2018 at 11am CET.

EURAMET projects and partners have made significant contributions to this effort, and our next newsletter will be focussing on the SI redefinition and their work. Until then, you can follow #SIredefinition or follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for more information, videos and news.
