Measurements and Metrology for Smart Electricity Grids - Excellence Training

Date: 2022-05-09 to 2022-05-25
Location: Online Event
Smart Electricity Grids

9 to 25 May 2022

The event is jointly organised by Politecnico di Torino and INRiM with the support of the European Metrology Network for Smart Electricity Grids.

The successful implementation of a smart electricity grid requires the development and implementation of a suitable metrological measurement infrastructure.

The key challenges lie in achieving better understanding of the behaviour of the grids and the subsequent development of measurement tools for observing and controlling them.

These include instrumentation for monitoring grid stability, tools for determining grid quality, and revenue metering systems to ensure fair trade between commercial parties utilising the grid.

This excellence course will provide an extensive overview of the general measurement challenges related to smart electricity grids together with in-depth training on selected key measurement challenges, contributions to the security of electricity supplies, and consider grid evolution in the context of the ongoing energy transition.
