International survey for Energy Gases industry

The European Metrology Network (EMN) for Energy Gases has produced a new international survey intended for understanding the metrological challenges and needs of stakeholders.

In accordance with the EU legislation on renewable energy and Paris Agreement, which aim at a zero-carbon economy and limited global temperature rise, there is an increased drive to develop and bring to market renewable energy gases.

For renewable energy gases to successfully move Europe towards decarbonised energy systems, new research, technology, and infrastructure will be necessary.

As a central nucleus covering metrological needs in this sector, The European Metrology Network (EMN) for Energy Gases can aid the security, quality, efficiency, and safety of this transition.

To gather more information on the resources, advice, skills, and facilities that stakeholders will require or would appreciate, the EMN has launched a survey.

It welcomes the view points from those across the energy gases industry, to contribute their measurement challenges and needs for the future.

Responses to the survey will feed into the EMN’s initial tasks, including a strategic research agenda, which will then be used by the EMN to develop a harmonised and sustainable European measurement infrastructure.
