T3.J2.2: Metrology for new industrial measurement technologies (NIMTech)

JRP Objectives:
  • Development of new 3D metrology systems up to 10 m both in measurement laboratory and production environmental conditions together with test facilities and associated test procedures
  • Development of software for automatic evaluation of measurement uncertainties for new 3D measuring systems
  • Design and manufacturing of complex 3D standards (freeform artefact, gear master, waviness artefact)
  • Development of numerical standards and procedures for internet based software validation

Contributions towards the aim of the TP:

  • Improve manufacturing capability by increasing the understanding of complex measurement systems.
  • Provide input to standard specifications and to encourage best practice.
  • Ensure traceability in 3D coordinate metrology for complex geometries and freeform surfaces.
  • Improve interoperability and supply chain efficiency in high value industrial sectors.
  • Extend the technological lead of EUROPEAN industry in the field of machine engineering, automotive and aircraft industry.
  • Strengthen the EUROPEAN NMIs according to the EMRP roadmaps.
